With distractions abundant in your office space between phone calls, meetings, co-workers, and maybe even office dogs, being able to concentrate is a task all in itself. In the study, Color in Office Environments, Nancy Kwallek explains that offices that have predominantly white or gray walls can induce sadness and depression among employees. Now that we know that dull colors are a no-no, which colors are best to paint or accent our office with?
Blue Stimulation
The color most preferred by men, blue is often chosen as a favorite color because of it’s non-threatening, traditional vibe. Many organizations choose blue as their color of choice because it gives off an aura of stability. Many find that their focus increases in a blue room versus other colors and in turn find that their day is much more productive. It stimulates the mind by aiding in concentration.
Yellow Creativity
If your office needs energy, yellow is the way to go. However, we don’t recommend over doing it – too much yellow can become irritating. Try adding pops of yellow in your décor to subtle moments of liveliness.
Green Balance
If your office is like mine, working long hours is something that is part of the nature of the business. Green is ideal for those who spend eight plus hours in an office because it helps to keep the occupant calm in stressful times. Similar to blue, green helps to increase productivity in large workspaces.
Red Energy
This is a power color and ideal for the head of a department or CEO alike. Red ignites your brain into working harder and with passion. Red has also been proven to increase heart rate. If you have a lot of physical work to do like in a warehouse, red can increase your blood flow and kick you into high gear.
