Extrinsic rewards such as time off, taking them to lunch, and even monetary can also be great motivators. However, intrinsic and extrinsic reward systems should be well balanced.

All the employees work in this area without any walls or barriers to communication – and creativity.
Form an Environment that is Conducive to Creativity While an open office floor plan is certainly a good start, other adjustments like allowing employees to listen to music can have a great impact on creativity. Certain colors also stimulate creativity. Blue, green, and yellow are believed to greatly benefit an innovative workforce while plain white walls actually discourage creative thinking. Posting stimulating pictures, paintings, quotes, and posters around the workspace can also get those juices flowing.
Create a Team Space
Giving your employees a team space for collaboration brings them all together while allowing them their own individual work area. A great team needs to be able to work together in close proximity of each other, but the team members still benefit from their own personal space. This is one of the best ways to get the most from your
work teams.
Encourage Creative Thinking As a manager, it is important to listen to your employees and truly consider their innovative ideas. A person will stop offering new ideas if they are constantly shot down or if they feel no one is listening – they will simply stay in the box. If you want out of the box thinking, then you have to encourage it, nurture it, and take it seriously. Listening and acknowledging will keep the ball rolling.
